Cologne, 28 January 2021 – Having realigned its business and relaunched its brand, q.beyond has now been singled out by the independent Top Employers Institute as one of Germany’s outstanding employers. For this, the IT service provider underwent a strict certification process which assessed its HR strategies and processes in more than 20 topic areas.

“We aim to be one of the most attractive employers in our market”, comments Jürgen Hermann, CEO of q.beyond. “The in-depth audit of our HR activities by the Top Employers Institute enables us to measure ourselves against the best and on this basis to consistently develop our approach further”.

The auditors attach particular value to how companies are reacting to digitalisation in the world of work. Here, they expect participants to present specific approaches to addressing issues such as cultural change, disruption handling, networked work, talent management and employee retention.

Digital transformation towards “People & Culture”

In parallel to rebranding itself as q.beyond and focusing its activities on the digital growth markets for Cloud, SAP and IoT services, the company also transformed its HR department. “In our newly established People & Culture department, we now consistently draw on digital processes”, explains Jürgen Hermann. “Data helps us to reach better decisions. We make the most important key personnel figures transparent on a data dashboard. Standardised workflows and automation make routine tasks easier, while agile methods assist us in taking new approaches to solving problems. This way, we can hold our own, also as a medium-sized employer, in the competition for highly qualified knowledge workers and systematically develop our talents”, he adds.

Networked working environments for employees

Staff at q.beyond notice this approach from their very first day at the company, where a consistently networked and mobile working environment awaits them. Home office and new work approaches have long been in place and actively used at q.beyond, and that not just since the coronavirus crisis. Employees now even organise their access to shared desks via an internally developed app.

Participants who are assessed as “Top Employers” place their employees at the centre of their business activities and offer them a superb environment for working and developing their skills.
